- Local anesthesia is applied.
- The anterior capsule of the lens is opened and with the phacoemulsifying instrument, which is a small probe, fluid is poured into the eye while the lens is broken into small fragments.
- Corneal cuts are made with the femtosecond laser.
- The lens is replaced with an intraocular lens (IOL) to correct the patient's vision.
